Lutz Brandt (Open in new tab)(1938-2024) studied architecture under Selman Selmanagić at the Berlin Weißensee School of Art and was a master student in painting under Walter Womacka. Er schuf in Ost- und in Westberlin Giebelbilder und gestaltete U-Bahnhöfe, war Architekt, Designer, Gebrauchsgrafiker, Bühnenbildner, Filmausstatter, u.a. in Zusammenarbeit mit Oscar-Preisträger Ken Adam. – The special exhibition features examples of his work, interior studies with polyurethane furniture. He also proved himself a gifted storyteller with his autobiography. Before the work went to print, he passed away in January 2024. Günter Höhne (Open in new tab), a close friend of Brandt, reviewed and organized his estate and published the autobiography with Verlag Neues.
