Everyone into Art! #4 – Women in Form

For the fourth time, the Museum of Utopia and Everyday Culture and Beeskow Castle have invited amateurs to curate a small exhibition: Five women from the gymnastics division of SV Preußen 90 Beeskow e.V. have selected paintings, prints, and sculptures focusing on the themes of work, family, and sports.

Their focus is on depictions of women they discovered in Beeskow’s collection of GDR art. The works show everyday work life, represent the balancing act between family and career, and tell stories of recreational sports, as these women gymnasts have been meeting regularly to train for more than 50 years – also to stay in shape.
